Our CSR Program: Cleaner Communities, Real Jobs Coming Soon!

Three commitments, one programme: hygiene for communities that need it most, real jobs and training for youth and women, and cleaner neighbourhoods across Kenya.

The Idea Behind It

Cleaning changes how people live. It can also change who gets to work.

We built S&M Cleaners Limited on a simple belief: cleaning changes how people live, and it can also change who gets to work. By 2025, we had spent years cleaning homes, offices and job sites across 6 counties, and we kept meeting the same two realities side by side.

Hygiene gaps

Schools, clinics and community centres in lower-income neighbourhoods often go without the hygiene standard we would give any paying client.

Closed doors

At the same time, capable young people and women in those same neighbourhoods were struggling to find their first real job.

In November 2026, we will turn that observation into a programme: the S&M Cleaners Limited CSR Program, three commitments running side by side rather than a single campaign.

How It Works

Three commitments, one programme

Instead of treating cleaning, community hygiene and employment as separate initiatives, we shall run them together. A community clean-up creates paid work for someone we have trained. A training graduate's first paid assignment might be a disinfection visit to a school that could not otherwise afford one. The three commitments reinforce each other by design.

01
Commitment one

Clean and disinfect where it is needed most

Many schools, children's homes, community centres, clinics and public washrooms in lower-income areas cannot afford professional hygiene services, even though they serve the people most exposed to illness. We shall schedule cleaning, disinfection and hygiene support for these facilities, including emergency response when an outbreak or urgent health risk is reported.

Get a facility considered: Nominate a school, clinic, children's home or community facility for a hygiene visit.

    02
    Commitment two

We open real doors for youth and women

A cleaning contract is also a training ground. Every contract we win creates paid, supervised work, and we deliberately route that work through recruitment and training rather than hiring only experienced staff. Trainees learn professional cleaning methods, safe chemical handling and customer service, with a defined path toward supervisor roles, and we support graduates who want to start their own small cleaning enterprise rather than staying employees indefinitely.

Join the pipeline: Apply for a position on our team, or for a place in the next training intake.

      03
      Commitment three

We put our own waste and water footprint to work for the neighbourhood

Every job generates waste and uses water and chemicals. We treat that as an opportunity rather than a cost to hide: community clean-up drives, waste segregation, plastic and paper collection, and training residents and estates on proper waste handling, delivered by the same teams who do our paid cleaning work.

Back a clean-up: Fund, supply or send volunteers to a community clean-up drive in your county.

        For Organisations

        Why organisations partner with us

Companies increasingly need CSR and ESG activity that is specific, dated and checkable, not a paragraph of good intentions. Because the Program will be launched in November 2026, and because every clean-up, nomination and training intake is logged, a partner organisation gets a programme it can name, date and report on, delivered by a team that already operates the cleaning and hygiene side of the work, not a separate charity arm.

        Sponsor

        Sponsor a facility's hygiene visit or a community clean-up.

        Fund training

Fund training places for youth and women.

        Hire graduates

Hire our graduates for your own site.

        Refer

Refer a community that needs support.

“A clean community is not only about the buildings we clean; it is about the people who live, work and grow there. We are launching this programme because we believe young people and women deserve opportunities to gain practical skills, earn an income and build something of their own, while communities deserve access to better hygiene.”
